So you've been scouring the World Wide Web looking for advice on who to bet on when the NFL returns to FOX this Thursday night. You've googled pre-season football picks and landed here at the Sedge Court Journal. Or, maybe you are a return reader seeking the wisdom and gambling insight that only I, the Robnosticator, can provide. Whatever brought you here, you are in luck, because today, August 6th, 2007, Is the day I officially release my first pick of the 2007 Football season.

Now, whether you are new to the Sedge Court Journal, or a return reader you should take a moment to look around and familiarize yourself with the site. You can go here for a breakdown of my football betting money management system. What you will discover is that all of our picks are documented and all of our picks are free!!!! Even better is the fact that we win!!!

So lets get to the pick.......

Indianapolis Colts at Dallas Cowboys (-4 1/2)

Tarik Glenn is probably not a household name outside of Indianapolis; but, in the Circle City, Tarik was known for two things. A.)False Starts and B.) Preventing Peyton Manning from getting blindsided and having his head handed to him. Tarik is retired and all of Indy is collectively holding their breath to see how his replacement will fare.

Tony Ugoh. Yep, I spelled it right, and Yep, you have never heard of him, but this is the guy who will be charged with protecting the Face of the NFL for the foreseeable future. This is the "new" guy and his first NFL Game is Thursday Night under the Texas Sky with the Good Lord and all of America watching.
So here is what I wonder; who's more nervous for Thursday's Game? Tony Ugoh or John Navarre. Navarre, the poor bastard, is pretty low on the depth chart and thus expendable. The Colts need stronger depth at QB, but more importantly and urgently, they need to see how the offensive line will gel in passing situations now that Tarik has retired. They are not going to risk Sorgi and the Colts have little to lose if Navarre gets hurt. Which means the game plan will be to test their pass protection with the new elements of the offensive line. Combined this with the emotional bump Dallas gets from playing the Superbowl Champs at home and you have the perfect set-up to see the Colts get thumped. Plus, the Colts could care less about winning pre-season games. They use these match-ups for the intended reasons; to find weaknesses and hopefully correct them. I like the Cowboys to cover.
Robnosticator's Pick: Dallas Cowboys -4 1/2 (1 Pierogi)
