Q. What does a Kentucky native call the mother of his children?

A. His sister.

I nailed my pick of the week yesterday on the Wisconsin opener but my bleeding heart and a healthy dose of skeptism had me overthink the Arkansas pick. Today, I have two more solid picks on the Kentucky/Louisville game. The heralded "Governers Cup".

As I reported earlier the ranked favorites have been overwhelming against their unranked opponents this weekend. You'd think I'd follow the trend. You would be wrong.

Here's why.

The first and last time Kentucky Head Coach Rich Brooks held the Governers Cup was when he delivered it to the Cardinals in 2003 after losing 24-40. Since then Brooks has been plauged by a team that fails to perform. The Wildcats have secured their position as the Indiana University of the Southeastern Conference during his tenure and this is a team who most believe will finish at the bottom of the SEC east. Brooks himself may be standing in the unemployment line come December.

Robnosticator Pick: Kentucky/Louisville Under 59 1/2 (2 perogis)

I like this pick for several reasons.

First, If you look at the last 5 times these teams have played the total has gone over 59 1/2 once. The year that Brooks took the helm. The question that need to be asked is; are these teams better this year? The answer yes and no.

Kentucky will definately be a better team this year. Louisville, while a legitimate National Title contender, is not necessarily better but is finally recieving long overdue attention and is simply getting the respect they deserve. This is what is being reflected in the line.

Brooks knows that he won't be able to stop Brohm and company from scoring; so the game plan for Kentucky will be to keep the Cardinal offense off the field. The Cardinal defensive suffered a major setbeck with the graduation of their top 3 lineman which included Elvis Dumervil, however the secondary is still exceptional. This will force Kentucky to run the ball and burn the clock.

Rafeal Little.

Learn his name because by the end of the night you'll either be cursing it or praising it. The Kentucky running back rushed for over 1000 yards last year and the Wildcats are returning all of their offensive linemen.

Hell, I feel so good about the Cats tonight I'm gonna thow a couple more perogis their way.

Robnosticator Pick: Kentucky +22 1/2 (2 perogis)

Despite the fact that Loisville has owned UK in this series, the number here is to big. In fact only once in the last 5 years would Louisville have covered it. These in state games have a life of their own and Kentucky will cover. And heres a little history lesson. Last year Louisville was a 23 point favorite. Louisville ended the game fighting for their life and won by a mere Touchdown. Final Score 31-24.

OK, just one more pick because I know you want it.

TCU will continue the trend of top 25 Beatdowns. I like the Horned Frogs against Baylor. Texas produces great football players, shitty leaders of free nations.

Robnosticators Pick: TCU -7 (1 perogi)

Stay Polska,

Robnosticator
