Now onto my picks of the week:
ND -13 @ Washington (Game of the Week)
Several things stand out to me here. I don't care if Ty Willingham is coaching his old team because clearly he didn't know what to do with those players when he had them. Charlie Weis is going to have the Irish prepared for this game after MSU hung 44 on them last week. It was the only time in the history of the program that they scored 40+ and lost. They'll score 50 this week and win.
My second game is a bit unsual because in all honesty, I don't like a whole lot of games this week in college football. Its the start of conference season for most big schools so matches are a little tougher to call out of the gate. Therefore I went on a hunch for my second 10 pt game.
Marshall -3 @ Central Florida (10 Pt. Game)
Rumor has it Culpepper is going back to UCF for this game since he can't seem to complete a pass in the NFL, at least not to anyone on the Vikings. Look for him to only throw 3 picks in this one. Seriously though I watched Marshall play Kansas St. a couple weeks ago at 7:30AM out here on the west coast and they hung with them up until the end of the game and easily could've won. UCF has sucked since the Daunte days and I look for big day from the new version of the Marshall QB, one who runs. Go Thundering Herd!!!
On to the NFL for my last 2 picks of the week.
I've quickly learned that NFL is a tough racket this year having lost most of my games. But in week 3 lies a couple gems including Vinny's PICK OF THE MONTH that will get me back on track.
Green Bay + 3 1/2 v. Tampa Bay (PICK OF THE MONTH)
Green Bay is wounded and everyone is touting Tampa as the new sleeper team after two weeks. The Pack started shitty last year too and made the playoffs. While I'm not saying they'll rebound that far, this a must game for them and I think Favre and Ahman Green will get the offense in gear finally. Plus anytime you can get home team points in the NFL, especially more than a field goal, you usually take it. W hen its the Packers at Lambeau bank on it.
Colts -14 v. Browns (10 Point Game)
Oh baby this one is sweet. The Browns got their big win last week. The Colts almost got shut out at home. Hmmmm....wonder what's going to happen? I figure since the Colts only scored 10 last week, they're due for 40 this week. Plus the Colts now have a D. Colts 42-13.
Enjoy that cash bitches. I know I will.
Til next week,
Vinny the Squirtz
